A lot of people have learned how to work hard.
Fewer have learned how to receive.
Receive support.
Receive rest.
Receive recognition.
Receive help.
Receive money without immediately attaching more pressure or responsibility to it.
For many people, receiving feels unfamiliar.
Even uncomfortable.
So the moment something good arrives, they instinctively:
work harder,
give more away,
overcompensate,
or create new pressure to justify it.
I see this happen often with business owners. I was guilty of this.
They finally reach a financial milestone they’ve been working toward…and instead of feeling safer, they immediately feel more responsible.
More pressure.
More expectations.
More fear of losing it.

It’s one of the reasons financial success doesn’t automatically create peace.
Because peace isn’t created by the number alone.
It’s shaped by our ability to actually hold what we’ve created without immediately turning it into more pressure.
That’s a very different kind of money conversation.
