Are You on Self-Investment Overload – Has the Promise of Abundance Fallen Short?
By Linda A. Hunt, The Money Expert
Since the beginning of the year, my inbox has been flooded with emails from various teachers about how to re-tool my business and make 2010 the best year ever. This is the same thing they promise every year, and in my experience very few folks who have taken their programs have experienced this success on a long-term basis.
I am familiar with many of these teachers and have been a student of some of them. While they share fabulous information on mindset and have even shared some of the tools to achieving the desired level of abundance that they have achieved, they neglected to share how to implement and support those changes. Then, when someone falls short of meeting the promised (and much-hyped) outcome those very same teachers blame the student not being ready to make that big leap.
That’s hogwash!!!
The key ingredient that is missing for 99.9% of the folks who are taking these courses is how to implement the changes being taught. For every concept being taught about abundance, there are simple tools and techniques – like a Revenue Growth Plan – that can help every person implement a success process into their life and business. It’s important that everyone see progress. This then creates the desire to move onto the next step, and the next, and the next, and so on.
It’s not your fault that these systems haven’t worked as well for you as you’d have liked…if at all.
Here’s the thing – no one can promise that you will achieve 6-figures when they are only teaching concepts. In order to achieve real change, you need to be shown the steps that will help you to implement those concepts.
Growth, abundance and profit in your business are the result of deliberate thought and action.
There is nothing hit-or-miss about prosperous living. It is a planned result, just as building the Golden Gate Bridge is a planned result that started with a vision – someone held the vision that they would be able to drive over the San Francisco Bay; the plan is then mapped out – actual plans were drawn up to build the bridge; and structured action is taken to fulfill that vision – the materials were purchased and the crews hired to build the bridge.
When you plan for growth and abundance there are four steps that must be followed:
1. Start with a clear vision 2. Map out the plan to fulfill that vision 3. Take structured action to achieve the vision 4. Revisit expand and adjust your vision often
You must start with a clear vision of where it is you want to go – what it is you want to do in your business and in your life. Be honest with yourself when you write-out your desires. Don’t write out what someone else wants for you or what you think you should desire.
You don’t have to know where you want to be five years from now. You can work up to that as you become clearer about what it is you don’t want in your life. By clearing out what you don’t want you are creating room for what you do want. Here’s an exercise to get you started on identifying your vision:
Simply think about what you desire and write it down! Your vision starts with what you desire. At this point do not edit nor make any plans. Just simply focus on what you desire and write it down.
The idea of writing out your desires and formulating a plan on paper clarifies the desires in your mind, and the mind produces definite results only when
In our next issue I will show you how to further clarify your vision and clear out what isn’t working in your life. Remember, the idea of writing out your desires, clarifies those desires in your mind.
